Installing Emotions for MSN
- Download and save the image to your computer.
- Open MSN. If you have not got the latest version yet, download it from Messenger's Official Website (http://home.live.com/).
- Find "Tools" on the top menu, before scrolling down and selecting "Emoticons".
- In the new window click "Create".
- Next, click "Find Image" and locate one of the emoticons you saved.
- Enter a keyboard shortcut and (optional) a name.
- Well done! Your emotions for MSN have been installed!
Shortcut to use the emoticons
Select the image and click the right button, select copy,
go to your IM(like Skype), again click right button to paste,
then you can see the emoticons and ready to be sent!
Note:
- Due to the size matter, you may need to resize the image.(use Adobe ImageReady or Ulead GIF Animator)
- It can not be applied to MSN(Live) messenger.

STEP 1
- Please download Concent Installer (msnci.exe) .
- Right click the file you would like to download and copy the short cut path
STEP 2
- Implementation of Concent Installer.
- Select the contents, after turning into anti-white, right-click and select Paste. That will be the URL.
- Finally press Install Content button to start download and install. (This step will take about ten seconds, depending on network conditions.)
STEP 3
- After installed successfully, choose from MSN menu and use the winks just installed.
>>Offline installation
- Download Jens Daumann MiniHTTP 1.0.2
- Download the packets for offline installation, and put that with Jens Daumann MiniHTTP 1.0.2 program in the same folder.
- Make sure port 80 is not occupied, then implementation of Jens Daumann MiniHTTP 1.0.2
- When appear the message "Jens Daumann MiniHTTP 1.0.2 is running on port 80 ...” means the localhost server was built.
- After launched the server successfully, implementation of Concent Installer, and then enter the URL as in the following format, press the Install Content button to install on own computer.
http://localhost/dp1.cab (dp1.cab is the file name)
- After usage, be sure to close the server program to avoid unnecessary security issues.
CAUTION !! DO NOT LOAD TOO MANY WINKS TO MSN AT ONCE BECAUSE IT CAN OVERWHELM IT CAUSING IT TO CRASH !!

Q: Why always failed to install?
A: Make sure and exclude all of the following failure factors, or try to install in other computers for testing to confirm their own web or computer problems.

* If a message says "packet installation failed. Please try again later." please check the following points:
- Please make sure the installation requirement is for MSN version 7.0 or above.
- Set MSN as online status.
- Do not run Messenger Plus! Or MSN Shell, close the running MsgPlus.exe or msnshell.exe program and log in the MSN.
- Do not open two MSN programs or above at the same time.
- Please make sure the URL is correct as starting with http:// and ending as .Mct or .Mco
- Is there any firewall, anti-virus programs that interfere with running the installation program?
- Is the internet access ok or bad connection?
- Please delete MSN program, and re-install to get a try. If necessary, remove all the temporary files associated with the setting.
- It probably because of missing files, please email us to repair.
Q: How to remove the temporary files and setting?
A: After remove the MSN program, please also delete the following five folders to make sure that all the files to return to the original default setting.
- %APPDATA%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger (MSN setting folder, will delete all installed animations and emotions.)
- %ProgramFiles%\MSN Messenger (MSN program file)
- %TEMP% (Windows temporary file)
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files (Temporary Internet files)
- %HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\History (History temporary file)
Q: Why must install from the web page? Can’t copy to own computer?
A: Because of MSN limitations, the entire contents of the packet have to be setup from the network installation.
If you want to copy to your computer for future installation, setup a server to reach.
Q: I'd like to off-line installation, why the Server always instantaneous disappear?
A: it's probably because the port 80 was occupied by other programs.
Please restart your computer and make sure to close all unnecessary programs, and then open the server.
